Alabama PWC Orifice Injury Lawsuit Filed Against Yamaha Motor Corp on Behalf of Texas Minor

8/20/2016

The Mazzola Law Firm, PLLC, in collaboration with Alabama counsel, filed a products liability lawsuit yesterday on behalf of young lady from Texas who was fifteen years old at the time of the incident. While riding as a passenger on a 2014 Yamaha Waverunner – which her father had rented while they were on family vacation in Orange Beach, Alabama – she sustained severe rectal injuries upon falling of the watercraft and coming into contact with the watercraft’s high-pressure jet thrust. Her injuries required life saving surgical intervention including the surgical implantation of a colostomy bag. The injured young lady’s father, who was a passenger on the watercraft at the time of the incident (along with one of her friends), had no idea something like that could ever happen. “Had I known, I would never have exposed my daughter to that kind of risk,” he said.

The case, styled Black v. Yamaha Motor Corporation et al, was filed in Baldwin County, Alabama on August 19, 2016.
